Description

A Southern favorite with a decadent twist—this Chocolate Pecan Pie combines gooey chocolate, crunchy toasted pecans, and a buttery crust for the ultimate holiday (or anytime) dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 34 tbsp ice water
  • 1 cup corn syrup (light or dark)
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • 1½ cups pecan halves (toasted)

Instructions

  1. Mix flour and salt in a bowl.
  2. Cut in butter until coarse crumbs form.
  3. Stir in ice water until dough forms. Chill 1 hour.
  4. Roll dough, place in pie dish, and crimp edges. Chill again.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Toast pecans for 8–10 mins, let cool.
  7. Melt chocolate.
  8. Whisk corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, butter, vanilla, and salt.
  9. Stir in melted chocolate.
  10. Fold in pecans and pour into crust.
  11. Bake for 50–60 minutes until center is set but slightly wobbly.
  12. Cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor. Chill the pie crust before baking and avoid overbaking to maintain a gooey texture.
